A recently surfaced video has captured a Baale from the Ikorodu neighbourhood giving an account of the interactions he had with Mohbad’s father after he passed away.
According to his narrative, the late singer’s father had originally intended to hold a midnight funeral on the same day of his son’s passing, but he fiercely objected to the idea.
He added that he had voiced his dissatisfaction with the planned course of action and made it clear that midnight burial wouldn’t take place.
Expressing himself in Yoruba language, the Chief stated: “I am the one who did not allow them to bury him. They wanted to bring him in the midnight.“His father had called me, firstly I didn’t want to answer him, I said you can’t bury him in the middle of the night, not here.
“They had already brought their shovel here because I was once the chairman of this community, also once a deputy chairman C.D.A of all this area even when there was no chairman I acted for some days.”
MohBah died on Tuesday, September 12, and was buried on Wednesday, September 13 at Ikorodu.
