An alleged victim Asked for Lenient Sentence for R. Kelly Claims They Are Engaged: “Deeply in Love”

An alleged victim of R&B singer R. Kelly, Joycelyn Savage, has claimed she is engaged to the singer.

The woman appealed for a lenient sentence for the singer as she shared detail of their relationship in a letter.

Her letter read in part: “I’m not the victim that the government has portrayed me to be.”

According to TMZ, the relationship between the duo was detailed in a letter that she sent to a judge before he was sentenced. Savage pleaded for leniency for her alleged fiance through the letter she sent to the judge before sentencing.

The letter reads in part:

“I’m not the victim that the government has portrayed me to be.”

She added that her relationship with R. Kelly is “the best thing that’s ever happened to her.” Savage stated that the disgraced singer always made sure her needs were met, as well as “any other women he was with.”

reported Savage claiming that allegations of the singer holding her and others against their will were not true. On Thursday,
June 30, Legit.ng reported that American singer R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison after decades of sexual abuse allegations.

US District Judge Ann Donnelly passed down the sentence after listening to statements from seven victims in Brooklyn federal court. In 2021, after a six-week trial that included testimony from 45 witnesses in a Brooklyn courtroom, a jury found him guilty of racketeering and violations of the Mann Act.

According to Daily Mail, one of R. Kelly’s victims called out the R&B star in court for using his power and fame to groom children for his gratification.
Several of Kelly’s victims, including some who testified at his trial last year, are delivering impact statements before he is sentenced.

A victim identified as Angela looked at the accused, calling him out for luring children with his celebrity status and money.

She said:
“With every addition of a new victim, you grew in wickedness. You used your fame and power to groom and coach underage boys and girls for your own sexual gratification. Today we reclaim our names. We are no longer the preyed-upon individuals we once were.’I pray that God reaches your soul.”
