EPL : Arsenal short of £9M to sign sassuolo player

ARSENAL SHORT OF £9M WITH FIRST OFFER, COULD RETURN WITH IMPROVED BID

Arsenal’s first offer of £34million for Gianluca Scamacca has been rejected – but could return with a second offer. The Serie A club want another £9million.

Gianluca Scamacca is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Serie A club Sassuolo and the Italy national team.

Scamacca, 24, joined Sassuolo in 2017 – but the 2021-22 campaign proved to be his first proper season with the Italian outfit. He has left Sassuolo on loan four times, to Cremonese, PEC Zwolle, Ascoli and Genoa.

ARSENAL COULD RETURN WITH SECOND SCAMACCA OFFER: JUST £9M NEEDED
It might not even be £9million. Arsenal could negotiate with Sassuolo and the two parties could find a compromise. Whether that be a clause, a sell-on fee, a larger up-front fee, who knows.

But given it is only £9million separating Sassuolo from doing business or not with Arsenal, surely the Gunners have got to consider another offer. However, if Gabriel Jesus is available, he should remain the priority.

Scamacca would be a good signing if a move for Jesus cannot happen. But given Jesus is out of contract next summer, surely Arsenal and Manchester City can come to an agreement for the striker.
