Agreement with Besiktas for the loan of Miralem Pjanic
Pjanic arrived at the Camp Nou last summer from Juventus
FC Barcelona and Besiktas have reached an agreement for the loan of the player Miralem Pjanic until 30 June 2022. Pjanic arrived at the Camp Nou last summer from Juventus, where he had been since 2016. The Bosnian international has made 30 appearances for FC Barcelona, broken down as follows:
Champions League: 8
Copa del Rey: 1
Spanish Super Cup: 2
Miralem Pjanic has joined Besiktas on loan from Barcelona.
The Bosnia & Herzegovina international will spend the 2021/22 season with the Turkish champions. Besiktas have agreed to pay the midfielder a salary of €2,750,000 during the loan.
Miralem Pjanic’s 2020 Move to Barcelona
Before joining Barcelona in La Liga, Pjanic spent around nine years in Serie A, first with Roma and then Juventus. Making over 100 appearances for his three clubs before Barcelona, Pjanic was a reliable option in midfield.
Pjanic didn’t have the best of spells in La Liga, making just 19 appearances under Ronald Koeman.
He did make 11 appearances across the cup competitions but it has been decided that he is not required at Barcelona for whatever reason. Pjanic failed to make a single goal contribution in his time with the Spanish giants.
Besiktas have been handed a tough little European group. They clash with Portuguese champions Sporting Lisbon, German giants Borussia Dortmund and Eredivisie stalwarts Ajax.
Besiktas’ 2020/21 Turkish title was decided by their head-to-head advantage over Galatasaray after both finished on 84 points.
Attempting to defend their crown, they remain unbeaten this campaign after three games – two wins and a draw – sitting in third place.
Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi also made the move to Besiktas on loan recently.
