Manchester United have joined Liverpool and Arsenal in the race for Brighton’s Yves Bissouma. The Mali international is attracting plenty of attention following his impressive displays on the south coast.

Bissouma made the move from Lille to the south coast in 2018, but the top flight outfit may face a tough task in keeping hold of him.

United are the latest club to join the race as they target a combative midfielder.

They are one of six clubs to be interested in the 24-year-old after his agent confirmed the interested parties, reports Jonathan Shrager.

United could yet lose Paul Pogba in the New Year after he expressed a desire to quit Old Trafford.

And the Norwegian is yet to settle on a solid midfield with Fred, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Donny van de Beek all getting opportunities.

They are ready to rival rivals Liverpool and Arsenal for Bissouma’s signature.

The Reds see the Brighton star as a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum who could yet quit Anfield.

His contract on Merseyside expires at the end of the season and he has not made a decision on where he sees his future.

Arsenal meanwhile have struggled this term and are only a few points above the relegation zone.

Mikel Arteta has a host of issues and may turn to the transfer market for a fresh injection.

Monaco could offer Bissouma a chance to return to France and Ligue 1 with two La Liga clubs also interested.

Seagulls boss Graham Potter has had to deal with speculation regarding a host of his top clubs with Ben White also attracting admiring looks from the Premier League’s elite.

“I have no worries about Ben getting his head turned,” said Potter. “He is a level headed guy who wants to play football and of course he wants to do it at the highest level, just like you want all those players to have those ambitions.

“He gets on with his work and he was totally professional in the summer despite the noise from outside the club, which you can’t control.

“He knows that, he’s a smart guy and we will carry on with our work and help him to enjoy his football, which is the most important thing.”
